Examples from Automated Workflows

Gyroid Lattice โ€” Parameter Space Exploration

This example demonstrates using animation of design parameters to explore a design space. In this case we use implicit modeling and vary the frequency of a gyroidal lattice along its three axes in world space. The color responds to the dominant axis of the gyroid at any point.

A Path to Printing AI-generated Parts

These are images of a tractor generated from a simple AI prompt: as generated on the left and after automated changes on the right to make the part manufacturable. The workflow thickens fragile sections, resolves problematic geometry, and adjusts the textures to adapt to any changes in shape.

Decoration by Tessellation

A variety of tessellations are useful for creating rich and intricate surfaces. Here we coarsely remesh a fish form and compute its dual mesh. Using this Voronoi tessellation, each tile blooms into a flower with petal tips reaching toward the vertices of their tile. We calculate flower centers from the cell centers and other petals from the first layer of petals. The petals must be thick enough to print well.
